In search of a subject to inspire her, director Sophie B\u00e9dard Marcotte begins filming her neighbour Gabriel \u2013 himself an theatre director. At first sporadically, over days, months, then years and through a pandemic, test footage turns into long-term observations in which art and love become increasingly intertwined; in which Gabriel, whilst searching for the right ideas for his theatrical adaptation of Sisyphus, becomes Sisyphus himself; and in which the process of their relationship and creative work is captured in warm yet distinct images.<\/span><\/p>

To expire means changing our relationship with things. Film projects become romantic relationships, plays become a cosy spot in the living room during lockdown, and premises are overtaken by their own obsolescence. Some things are allowed to run out; perhaps they even should.<\/span><\/p>

Auf der Suche nach einem Subjekt, das sie inspiriert, beginnt Regisseurin Sophie B\u00e9dard Marcotte, ihren Nachbarn Gabriel \u2013 selbst bem\u00fchter Theaterregisseur \u2013 zu filmen. Erst vereinzelt, \u00fcber Tage, Monate, dann Jahre und eine Pandemie hinweg, werden aus Testaufnahmen Langzeitbeobachtungen, in denen sich Kunst und Liebe immer weiter vermengen, in denen Gabriel auf der Suche nach den richtigen Ideen f\u00fcr seine Sisyphos-Theateradaption selbst zu ihm wird und der Beziehungs- und Schaffensprozess in warmen, doch bestimmten Bildern eingefangen wird.<\/span><\/p>

Filmprojekte werden zu Liebesbeziehungen, Theaterst\u00fccke werden zum Lockdown-Stuberhocker, Pr\u00e4missen werden von ihrer eigenen Abl\u00f6sung eingeholt.
