The film moves between memory and the present, where fragments of the past return through images, gestures and repetition. What remains is memory. Death does not completely erase a person; something continues through remembrance, through the stories, gestures and images carried by those who remain. The film turns the hospital into a space where the past continues to exist alongside the present.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><br \/><\/strong><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Faceless<\/strong>, directed by Manu Luksch, approaches the question from another direction. The film is a science-fiction story constructed from real CCTV footage that Luksch obtained of herself from London\u2019s surveillance cameras. In its dystopian world, faces are erased and surveillance becomes an all-encompassing system of control. Here, the body can remain visible while the person within it becomes increasingly absent. What is left when memory and identity disappear? Is a body enough to preserve a person, or is existence something more than physical presence?<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Together, the films separate the survival of the body from the survival of the self. One asks how a person persists through memory; the other asks what remains when identity itself is stripped away.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">__________________________________________<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>In Those Who Do Not<\/strong> Drown folgt Naeem Mohaiemen einem Mann, der sich durch ein verlassenes Krankenhaus bewegt und sich an die letzten Monate im Leben seiner Frau erinnert. Der Film bewegt sich zwischen Erinnerung und Gegenwart, in der Fragmente der Vergangenheit durch Bilder, Gesten und Wiederholungen zur\u00fcckkehren. Was bleibt, ist Erinnerung. Der Tod l\u00f6scht einen Menschen nicht vollst\u00e4ndig aus; etwas bleibt durch das Erinnern, durch die Geschichten, Gesten und Bilder, die von den Zur\u00fcckbleibenden getragen werden. Das Krankenhaus wird zu einem Raum, in dem die Vergangenheit weiterhin neben der Gegenwart existiert.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><br \/><\/strong><\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Faceless<\/strong>, unter der Regie von Manu Luksch, n\u00e4hert sich der Frage aus einer anderen Richtung. Der Film ist eine Science-Fiction-Geschichte, die aus realen CCTV-Aufnahmen konstruiert wurde, die Luksch von Londons \u00dcberwachungskameras von sich selbst erhalten hat. In seiner dystopischen Welt werden Gesichter ausgel\u00f6scht und \u00dcberwachung wird zu einem allumfassenden Kontrollsystem. Hier kann der K\u00f6rper sichtbar bleiben, w\u00e4hrend die Person in ihm zunehmend abwesend wird. Was bleibt, wenn Erinnerung und Identit\u00e4t verschwinden? Reicht ein K\u00f6rper aus, um einen Menschen zu bewahren, oder ist Existenz etwas, das \u00fcber die physische Pr\u00e4senz hinausgeht?<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Zusammen trennen die Filme das Fortbestehen des K\u00f6rpers vom Fortbestehen des Selbst.
