More than his contemporaries, Ishii embodies PUNK: against rules, against aesthetic standards. His later career produced cult classics like <\/span><span class=\"a_GcMg font-feature-liga-off font-feature-clig-off font-feature-calt-off text-decoration-none text-strikethrough-none\"><strong>Electric Dragon<\/strong> <strong>80.000V<\/strong><\/span><span class=\"a_GcMg font-feature-liga-off font-feature-clig-off font-feature-calt-off text-decoration-none text-strikethrough-none\">, but above all stands his graduation film, though he never actually finished his studies. In an interview, Ishii said he was only enrolled to use the film equipment \u2013 there is probably no better description of his cinema. In <\/span><strong><span class=\"a_GcMg font-feature-liga-off font-feature-clig-off font-feature-calt-off text-decoration-none text-strikethrough-none\">Crazy Thunder Road<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"a_GcMg font-feature-liga-off font-feature-clig-off font-feature-calt-off text-decoration-none text-strikethrough-none\">, the police and a biker gang face off in an industrial wasteland. Hier ist die Apokalypse keine Trag\u00f6die, sondern Befreiung \u2013 ein Vorwand, das Regelbuch zu verbrennen und den Lautst\u00e4rkeregler bis zum Anschlag aufzudrehen.
