Winner of the Amnesty Film Prize & Panorama Audience Award at the Berlinale 2025.<\/strong> <\/span><\/p>

In November 1992, racist arson attacks in M\u00f6lln destroyed the lives of \u0130brahim Arslan and his family. The 7-year-old boy survived the fire, but tragically lost his sister, his cousin and his grandmother. The city subsequently received hundreds of letters of solidarity. It was not until 2020 that these letters were discovered in the M\u00f6lln town archives. They were never forwarded to the families. The film follows \u0130brahim and shows the trauma that still shapes their lives today. Through his fight against racism, \u0130brahim has found a way to channel his pain. His brother Nam\u0131k, on the other hand, is still struggling with the past.<\/span><\/p>

Im November 1992 zerst\u00f6rten rassistische Brandanschl\u00e4ge in M\u00f6lln das Leben von \u0130brahim Arslan und seiner Familie. Der 7-j\u00e4hrige Junge \u00fcberlebte das Feuer, verlor aber auf tragische Weise seine Schwester, seine Cousine und seine Gro\u00dfmutter. In der Folgezeit erhielt die Stadt Hunderte von Solidarit\u00e4tsschreiben. Erst 2020 wurden diese Briefe im Archiv der Stadt M\u00f6lln entdeckt. Sie wurden nie an die Familien weitergeleitet. Der Film begleitet \u0130brahim und seine Geschwister und zeigt das Trauma, das ihr Leben bis heute pr\u00e4gt. Durch seinen Kampf gegen Rassismus hat \u0130brahim einen Weg gefunden, den Schmerz zu kanalisieren, sein Bruder Nam\u0131k hingegen k\u00e4mpft immer noch mit der Vergangenheit.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Martina Priessner is a freelance filmmaker and author based in Berlin. Her documentary debut WIR SITZEN IM S\u00dcDEN was nominated for the Grimme Award in 2011. During a stay in Istanbul, she made the found footage film EVERYDAY I'M CAPULING, which deals with the Gezi Park protests in Istanbul. Her documentary DIE W\u00c4CHTERIN premiered at DOK Leipzig in 2020 and was awarded the Goethe-Institut Documentary Film Award. In 2025, DIE M\u00d6LLNER BRIEFE was awarded the Amnesty Film Prize and the Panorama Audience Award at the Berlinale.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Martina Priessner arbeitet als freie Filmemacherin und Autorin in Berlin. Ihr Dokumentarfilmdeb\u00fct WIR SITZEN IM S\u00dcDEN war 2011 f\u00fcr den Grimme-Preis nominiert.
