Emerging from the American underground and exploitation scene of the 1960s\u201370s, the \u201cmidnight screening\u201d became a countercultural movement. Art house cinemas started showing films too controversial, too weird, too violent for the mainstream or your typical daytime slot. A whole subculture was born \u2013 and it still lingers, even if it feels kinda faded in Germany.<\/span><\/p>
