Short film program I: 6 short films, 72 min<\/span><\/em><\/p>

Short films are wonderfully weird creatures. Less limited by narrative convention, ambitious budgets and distribution circuits, they can truly run wild. Beyond any rulebook of filmmaking, they dap into the unconscious, into alienation, abject and dreamlike trips that bend the mind beyond what we are used to seeing. So much, they electrify us. <\/span>Watching a short film is like developing a micro-obsession.<\/span> Like catching a spark. It\u2019s like having a brief encounter that lingers with you for days. Their fabric is woven from digital texture (Pacific Vein) and old relics (Simulated Scenery Study), they move through computer generated interspaces with ease (Their Eyes) and pulsate in our eyes and ears (ESP). Yet what lurks beneath the visual and auditive experience of these shorts is our distorted reality, uncanny and estranged, we recognize it.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>

Kurzfilme sind wunderbar seltsame Wesen. Nicht gebunden an narrative Strukturen, ambitionierte Budgets und Vertriebswege, k\u00f6nnen sie v\u00f6llig freidrehen. Jenseits aller Konventionen des Filmemachens tasten sie sich ins Unbewusste vor, hinein in Entfremdung, in das Abjekte, in traumartige Trips, die weit \u00fcber das hinausgehen, was wir gewohnt sind zu sehen. Deshalb elektrisieren sie uns.\u00a0Einen Kurzfilm zu schauen ist wie eine Mikro-Obsession zu entwickeln<\/strong>. Wie ein Funke, der \u00fcberspringt. Wie eine fl\u00fcchtige Begegnung, die Tage nachhallt. Sie sind gewoben aus digitaler Textur (Pacific Vein<\/strong>) und alten Relikten (Simulated Scenery Study<\/strong>); sie gleiten mit Leichtigkeit durch computergenerierte Zwischenr\u00e4ume (Their Eyes<\/strong>) und pulsieren in unseren Augen und Ohren (ESP<\/strong>). Doch was stets unter der Oberfl\u00e4che der audiovisuellen Erfahrung lauert, ist unsere verzerrte Realit\u00e4t, unheimlich und entfremdet, erkennen wir sie.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
