Short film program II: 5 short films, 89 min<\/span><\/em><\/p>

What happens to your idea of home, if you can never return? The short program Home, interrupted circles around contemporary stories of distance, displacement, and exile, most of them drawn from the filmmakers\u2019 biographies. These short films are personal, sometimes painfully so, and speak to the ambivalence of a world that is increasingly connected through digitals means, yet somehow more distant than ever. Our protagonists live far away from home, in exile, as expats and refugees from war, yet they try to make a connection to their former lives. Reaching out to their families after years of silence, sharing painful memories of their past life with new friends and making a return visit. Gently and vulnerably, these five short films question whether reconciliation is ever possible (Monument), highlight the precarious nature of care work (She Crossed)<\/strong> and the strain of exercising solidarity from afar (Chrysanthemum)<\/strong>, show what it’s like to be loved but not seen in your queerness (Correct me if I’m wrong)<\/strong> and what it means to leave your family in a war zone (Fire Drill).<\/strong><\/span><\/p>

Was passiert mit der Idee von Heimat, wenn man nie wieder zur\u00fcckkehren kann? Das Kurzfilmprogramm <\/span>Home, interrupted <\/span>vereint f\u00fcnf zeitgen\u00f6ssische Geschichten von Entfremdung, Vertreibung und Exil, von denen die meisten aus den Biografien der Filmemacher*innen stammen. Diese Kurzfilme sind pers\u00f6nlich, manchmal schmerzhaft, und sprechen von der Ambivalenz einer Welt, die zunehmend digital vernetzt ist und doch weiter auseinanderzudriften scheint. Unsere Protagonist*innen leben weit weg von zu Hause, im Exil, als Expats, sind ausgewandert und vor dem Krieg gefl\u00fcchtet \u2013 und auf der Suche nach einer Verbindung in ihr fr\u00fcheres Leben. Sie nehmen nach Jahren des Schweigens den Kontakt zu den Eltern auf, teilen schmerzhafte Erinnerungen an ihr fr\u00fcheres Leben mit neuen Freund*innen und wagen einen Besuch bei der Familie. Behutsam und verletzlich stellen diese f\u00fcnf Kurzfilme die Frage, ob Vers\u00f6hnung jemals m\u00f6glich ist (Monument)<\/strong>, beleuchten die prek\u00e4re Natur der Pflegearbeit (She Crossed)<\/strong> und die Anstrengung, Solidarit\u00e4t aus der Ferne auszu\u00fcben (Chrysanthemum)<\/strong>, zeigen, wie es ist, geliebt, aber nicht in seiner Queerness gesehen zu werden (Correct me if I’m wrong)<\/strong> und was es bedeutet, seine Familie in einem Kriegsgebiet zu verlassen (Fire Drill)<\/strong>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
