a hybrid film following the struggles of a fictional breeder devoted to the pursuit of the ultimate goldfish. Inspired by interviews and diaries of real breeders, the film captures the obsession of a man pressing forward—suspended between preservation and metamorphosis—toward his elusive ideal. Through his experimental quest, the audience indirectly witnesses life being born, selected, refined, and extinguished. Interweaving AI-generated goldfish produced through LoRA-trained diffusion models with live-action footage shot inside fish tanks, the film explores the logic of aesthetic desire that underlies both biological breeding and algorithmic generation.
